Augmented reality(it is also known as AR) is an new technology that allows mixing virtual with real world in different proportions to achieve a new level of immersion that no virtual equipment can provide. Recent advances of computer and vision technology that makes possible Augmented Reality systems to go beyond indoor applications (for e.g. surgery and in the spection of hazardous environments) to support complex analysis, decision-making and governing processes

Augmented reality (AR) is like live, direct or indirect, view of a physical, real-world environment and whose elements are been augmented by the computer-generated sensor input such sound, graphics or GPS data. AR is related to more general concept called as mediated reality, in which a view of reality is modified by a computer. As a result, technology functions by enhancing one’s current perception of reality. By contrast, the virtual reality replaces the real world with a simulated one. Augmentation is conventionally in real-time and in the semantic context with environment elements, such as sports scores on TV during a match(cricket, football, etc). With the help of advanced AR technology the information about the surrounding real world of user becomes interactive and digitally manipulable. Artificial information about the environment and its objects can be overlaid on the real world.
Augmented reality is changing the way we view the world -- or at least the way the users see the world. Picture yourself walking or driving on the street. With augmented-reality displays, which will be eventually look much like normal pair of glasses, informative graphics will appear in your field of view, and the audio will coincide with whatever you will see. These enhancements will be refreshed continually to reflect the movements of your head.
Now a days Augmented reality(AR) gaining increasing interest. By mixing virtual with the real world in different proportions, augmented reality allows, level of immersion that no virtual equipment can provide. AR systems have been already used in many of the applications such as surgery, engineering. Most of those systems, however can only operate in house and cover relatively limited areas. The advances of the computer, vision and wireless technology that makes possible development of outdoor wireless systems to support complex analysis, decision-making and governing processes. The benefits of utilizing such systems in these processes are two of old:
1)Data supply on “the spot”(location-based services) and
2)Provision of 2D, 3D geo-information.

The best example of Augmented Reality(AR) is the latest popular game Pokemon Go.
This popular technology is been used in the game, augmented reality was confined to tech types and science fiction fiends. However, thanks to the game, many have now tried AR for the first time, as kids and adults like roam through town catching digital monsters superimposed on a physical world.
